Birthday Slide Show

by Katelyn :D
(New Jersey <3)

We are throwing my mom a surprise birthday party. A slideshow was made to be played at the party but a song has not yet been picked out. The slideshow contains tons of pictures of my mom growing up through the years...from baby to present day. I want a song that goes along with birthdays, growing up and that stuff. I want it to make the slideshow emotional. My mom grew up in the 60's but I don’t care if it’s a song from then or now, as long as it’s the perfect song.

Thank You!

Hi Katelyn!

A slide show is a great way to summarize the spectacular life of mom! And this one sounds like it will be sure to bring back some great memories, and maybe a few tears.

Some songs we can think of that could go along with a power point, or slide show are:

  • "You Raise Me Up" by Secret Garden

  • "Someday When I'm Old" by Easton Corbin

  • "Wild One" by Faith Hill

  • "This Used to be My Playground" By Madonna

  • "somebody's Hero" by Jamie O'Neil

  • "Wind Beneath My wings" by Bette Midler

  • "Mama" by Boyz to Men

Hope one of these is perfect for you! Let us know what you choose! I'd love to hear mom's reaction!!

A great memento you can create is a video of the presentation, as you play it video tape mom watching it. This will give the whole family something to remember it by. You can then splice together her reaction and the PowerPoint for a family memory.

Another idea you could always add at the end of the presentation is short little video clips of her closest family and friends, each saying something about mom. Have each person spend 15-30 seconds saying their favorite thing about mom. With those splice them together for a video montage at the end of the power point. It will give that walk down memory lane as well as just tell her how special she is to so many people.

With this she will sure to love it, and probably shed a few happy tears!

Good luck, and Happy Birthday Mom!!
